Like most people, I started from zero. No inherited capital, no head start — just the drive to understand the system properly. I went deep into investment banking, macro economics, monetary policy, and blockchain because the stakes were real and personal.

The questions we hear most often — answered honestly.

Is it too late to invest in Bitcoin? +

At current global adoption of around 11%, Bitcoin is at roughly the same stage the internet was in 1997–1998 — when most people still called it a fad. 617 million users out of a potential 8 billion is early. The institutional infrastructure — BlackRock ETF, Fidelity custody, regulated exchanges — is only now being built. The question is not whether it's too late. The question is how much risk is appropriate for your position.

Is it legal in Czech Republic and the EU? +

Yes — fully legal across the EU under the MiCA framework (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation), which came into full effect in 2024. In Czech Republic, crypto gains are taxable income. A 3-year holding period may qualify for capital gains exemption under Czech tax law — always verify with a Czech tax advisor. Exchanges operating in the EU must now hold a CASP licence from a national regulator. This is not the Wild West. It is a regulated asset class.

What about the volatility — the crashes? +

Bitcoin dropped 80% in 2018 and 77% in 2022. Both times it fully recovered and set new all-time highs within 24 months. Volatility and long-term performance are not mutually exclusive. The answer to volatility is not avoidance — it is position sizing. A 5% allocation means even a complete loss costs 5% of your portfolio. The investors who held through 2018 and 2022 built generational wealth. Those who sold at the bottom locked in permanent losses.

How do I start with a small amount? +

Most regulated European exchanges allow entry from as little as €25. The recommended approach for new investors is dollar-cost averaging (DCA) — a fixed monthly purchase regardless of price. This removes the psychological pressure of timing the market, smooths out volatility, and builds your position systematically over time. Do I work with clients outside Czech Republic? +

Yes — KL Consulting works with clients across Europe. All consultations are available remotely, and the regulatory and investment framework covered is EU-wide under MiCA. For clients in the UK, we cover the FCA framework alongside EU regulation. For non-EU European countries, we map out the applicable local rules. The investment principles, monetary analysis, and portfolio strategy are universal regardless of your country of residence.

What makes KL Consulting different from a broker or exchange? +

KL Consulting is an independent advisory, not a broker. We do not earn commission on what you buy or where you buy it. We do not have products to sell. Our only incentive is to give you the best advice for your specific situation. We also begin with education — no capital moves until you fully understand what you're doing and why. That distinction matters enormously in a space where most people are trying to sell you something.
